Hey everyone, I’ve got some exciting racing news that really lit up the weekend — and no, I’m not talking about the Netflix show. I’m talking about Stranger Things , the incredible Standardbred pacer who made a big statement at Buffalo Raceway on Saturday, May 17.

So here’s how it went down. In the $22,222 Open Pace, Stranger Things went in as the favorite — and he didn’t disappoint. With Kevin Cummings holding the reins, he started strong from the rail position. But instead of bolting straight to the front, he let Shipsaway briefly take the lead before quickly reclaiming command. It was a tactical move that set the tone for the rest of the race.

The early fractions came in at :29.1 and :59.3, relatively modest times, which gave Stranger Things the perfect setup to unleash his power in the second half. And boy, did he ever turn it on. As Melanion N and Born A Rebel started applying pressure on the outside, Stranger Things hit another gear. He clocked a third quarter in a sharp :28.3, and then really turned heads with a final split of :28.1. That late burst sealed the deal, pulling away to win by 2-1/2 lengths in a seasonal best time of 1:55.2 over a fast track.

Melanion N managed to hold on for second, with Born A Rebel finishing a respectable third.

He’s trained by Angelo Nappo and co-owned by Kathy Schoeffel and James Reuther . Saturday’s win marked his fourth victory in 15 starts this season, bumping his 2025 earnings to over $61,000 and pushing his lifetime earnings to a hefty $452,722 .

But the action didn’t stop there. Joseph Chindano Jr. had a spectacular afternoon with four driving wins , while David McNeight III and Kevin Cummings both doubled up. Trainers Christopher Petrelli and Maggie Chindano also picked up two wins each.

Live racing at Buffalo Raceway resumes this Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., and after the thrill Stranger Things delivered, there’s definitely going to be some eyes on the track.

So if you're into harness racing or just love seeing a horse defy expectations and dominate, Stranger Things is one to watch.
