Alright folks, it’s finally happening—after years of waiting, Hollow Knight: Silksong has officially resurfaced, and we now have a release window for 2025. If you've been part of the long-standing Silksong watch, refreshing Twitter, watching every showcase, and maybe even lighting a few summoning candles (or memes), you know how big this moment is.

So here’s the scoop. During the Summer Game Fest 2025, Xbox’s Sarah Bond took the stage and delivered the long-anticipated news: Hollow Knight: Silksong will be released by the end of 2025. Yep, you heard it right—this holiday season, you’ll finally be able to guide Hornet through a brand-new, hauntingly beautiful kingdom. The game will launch alongside the ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X handhelds, so yes, it’ll be playable on the go. That’s a huge win for fans who’ve been dying to dive into this sequel anywhere, anytime.

But that’s not all. Silksong won’t be limited to Xbox. It’s also coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X|S, plus it’ll be available on Game Pass on day one. That’s massive reach for a game that started life as a simple DLC idea before becoming a full-blown sequel.

It’s wild to think Silksong was first announced back in 2019. We got a glimpse of gameplay at E3 that year, and then… silence. There were flickers of hope with a new trailer in 2022, and then, once again, Team Cherry vanished into the shadows, only resurfacing to announce a delay in 2023. That radio silence became part of the game’s mystique—Silksong became less of a release and more of a legend.

Now, that legend is becoming a reality. Hornet, the fierce and agile princess of Hallownest, will take center stage in a brand-new world “haunted by silk and song,” featuring over 150 new enemy types. Expect a combat system that’s more fluid, fast-paced, and balletic than what we saw with the Knight in the original game. She’s not just a different character—she’s a whole new playstyle.

The wait has been long, frustrating, and sometimes even meme-worthy. But now, the finish line is in sight. So buckle up, polish your nail (again), and clear your calendars for holiday 2025. Hollow Knight: Silksong is finally coming. And this time, it’s real.
