Jake Paul Dominates Chavez Jr. in a One-Sided Boxing Showcase
So, Jake Paul did it again — and this time, it wasn’t even close. Last night in Anaheim at the Honda Center, Paul stepped into the ring with former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., and to be honest, it was more of a sparring session than a competitive fight. From the very first round, Jake controlled the pace, landed clean shots, and completely outworked Chavez in every department.
Chavez Jr., who once held a legitimate middleweight title, came out flat — like, completely disengaged. He didn’t throw a single punch in the first round. Zero. Jake Paul, on the other hand, came forward with jabs, clean body work, and sharp counters. It looked like he was fighting someone who didn’t even want to be there. And honestly, maybe Chavez didn’t.

Throughout the early rounds, Jake’s jab was money. He set the tone, stayed aggressive, and mixed it up to the head and body. Meanwhile, Chavez spent more time complaining to the ref than actually fighting. He cried about legal body shots being low and claimed he was hit in the back of the head — all of which were clean, legal shots. He just had no answer.
Things only got more lopsided as the rounds went on. Jake's punch stats were way ahead — he landed 140 punches to Chavez's 61. And of those 61, 40 came in the final two rounds when Jake admittedly started to gas a little. That’s when Chavez finally woke up — landing a few power shots and pressing forward in Round 9, but it was way too late.
The final scorecards said it all: 99-91, 97-93, and 98-92 for Jake Paul. He cruised to an easy unanimous decision win. After the fight, Jake clapped back at the crowd’s boos, saying, “Actions speak louder than words. I’m him. I just beat your boy’s ass. Easy work.” He even called out big names like Gilberto Ramirez, Badou Jack, and Tommy Fury — and made it clear he’s eyeing a world title.
Now, whether or not Jake deserves a title shot is up for debate, but with wins like this and his marketability, it’s not out of the question. Rumors are swirling that the WBA and WBC might actually rank him after this win. So like it or not, the “Problem Child” is forcing the boxing world to take him seriously. And with performances like last night’s, he’s not just winning fights — he’s dominating them.
