Korn Ferry Tour Returns to Amarillo with 2026 OccuNet Classic

Hey everyone, I’ve got some exciting news straight from the world of golf—and it’s a big deal for Amarillo, Texas. For the first time since 1990, the Korn Ferry Tour is making a return to the Texas Panhandle, and it's doing it in a huge way with the announcement of a brand-new tournament: the OccuNet Classic. This five-year partnership kicks off in June 2026, and the event is set to be held at the stunning Tascosa Golf Club.

Now if you don’t follow golf closely, the Korn Ferry Tour is the developmental tour for the PGA TOUR. It’s where the next generation of PGA superstars earns their stripes. And starting in 2026, Amarillo will become a proving ground for 156 of those players from all over the world. From June 11–14, the Tascosa Golf Club’s La Paloma Course—known for its beautiful, links-style design, natural rock outcroppings, and over 7,000 yards of challenging terrain—will host this prestigious 72-hole event.

The event wouldn’t be possible without The OccuNet Company stepping in as the title sponsor. OccuNet is a leader in healthcare services and proudly headquartered in Amarillo. Their chairman, Alex Fairly, has made it clear that this isn’t just a business move—it’s a heartfelt commitment to the local community. This tournament isn’t just about golf; it’s about spotlighting Amarillo on a national and even international stage.

Helping to bring this vision to life is Framework Events, a powerhouse in event management, with experience across Formula 1, NFL events, Red Bull, and now, the Korn Ferry Tour. According to their CEO Danny Rodgers, this is more than a sporting event—it’s a celebration of the spirit, pride, and hospitality of the Amarillo community. They’re already on the ground, preparing to deliver an unforgettable experience.

And let’s not forget about the home team—Tascosa Golf Club. With its dual-course layout and a rich golfing tradition, the club is already working with course architect Jeff Blume and the PGA TOUR to prepare La Paloma for elite-level play. According to managing partner John Dunn, this event will not only spotlight the course but also showcase the lifestyle and hospitality of Amarillo.

So mark your calendars: June 2026. The OccuNet Classic is coming, and it's going to be more than just a golf tournament. It’s Amarillo’s chance to shine, to welcome the next generation of PGA TOUR stars, and to show the world what the Texas Panhandle is all about. Whether you're a lifelong golf fan or just curious about what’s coming to town, this is something to look forward to.
