So, if you're a fan of sci-fi horror or just anything that oozes terror and suspense, there's something coming your way that you definitely shouldn’t miss— "Alien: Earth" , a chilling new series dropping on FX and Hulu this August 12th. Just the latest entry in the legendary "Alien" franchise, this one takes us to an even darker place—literally and emotionally—than we've been before. And thanks to a new behind-the-scenes look, we’re already getting goosebumps.

"Alien: Earth" is set in the year 2120, a few years before the original Ridley Scott "Alien" film. The story kicks off when a Weyland-Yutani starship—called the USCSS Maginot—crashes into a futuristic city on Earth known as Prodigy City. But it’s not just any crash. The ship was carrying five horrifying alien lifeforms, and now they're loose on our home planet. Think xenomorphs are bad? Wait until you see what else is lurking.

The series blends gritty sci-fi action with body horror and unsettling questions about humanity’s future. At the center of the story is a 12-year-old girl named Wendy—though she’s no ordinary kid. She’s been placed in a synthetic adult body as part of a secret project run by a mega-corporation called the Prodigy Corporation. This company, run by billionaire Boy Cavalier, has its own twisted goals—like creating the first transhuman hybrid.

The atmosphere is drenched in fear and mystery. In the sneak peek video released by FX, we get a gory taste of what's to come. There are scenes full of scuttling alien creatures, dripping flesh, and yes—an eyeball monster named T. Ocellus that crawls around searching for body orifices to invade. Honestly, it might just out-creep the classic xenomorphs.

According to show creator Noah Hawley, the series aims to explore not just alien threats but also the existential dilemma of whether humanity even deserves to survive. We’re talking biological monsters and synthetic AI turning against us. It’s a pretty intense take on where our future could be headed.

"Alien: Earth" premieres with a two-episode drop and is expected to run as an eight-part miniseries. If you're in the US, it'll be available on Hulu. For viewers outside the US, including the UK, the show will stream on Disney+.

So, yeah—if you thought space was scary, wait until the horror lands right here on Earth.
