Chaos at Manor Lakes: School Locked Down as Suspects Flee Police

Let me tell you what happened today at Manor Lakes P-12 College—a school community was shaken when what seemed like an ordinary school day turned into a police incident no one expected. It all started late in the morning, around 10:50am, when reports came through about a stolen Porsche driving erratically near Fraser Rise, in Melbourne's south-west.

Police were quick to respond and tracked the vehicle to the Manor Lakes area. The car was abandoned outside Manor Lakes P-12 College, on Minindee Road, and that’s when things took a dramatic turn. At least five individuals allegedly jumped out of the Porsche and ran straight onto school grounds—right into an active school filled with students and teachers.

Witnesses say one of the individuals may have had a sharp-edged weapon, prompting immediate action. The school was placed into lockdown without delay. Students were told over the PA system that it was not a drill. One student recalled the panic: “It was recess, we were just chilling, then we heard the announcement—lockdown, not a drill. Everyone was scared.”

Three suspects were apprehended by Victoria Police right there on campus. In fact, one student even saw an officer tackle one of them to the ground. It was intense. The police air wing was called in to assist in the search, while two other individuals managed to flee and are still being looked for as of now.

Though the lockdown only lasted about an hour, the experience clearly left a mark. Parents were not officially notified during the incident but heard about it through their children. Later, Principal Tori Mulligan sent out a statement reassuring families that no one was hurt, all students and staff were safe, and the school day resumed as normal.

Police confirmed that the offenders fled into school buildings—reportedly hiding even in restrooms—before being found and arrested. The Department of Education also verified that all student safety protocols were followed.

It’s a situation that could have gone much worse, but thanks to quick police action and calm procedures from the school staff, everyone stayed safe. Still, it’s a reminder of how quickly unexpected danger can show up—even in the most routine places like a schoolyard.

Anyone with information, CCTV, or dashcam footage related to this event is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
