Emmerdale and Coronation Street Pulled Again Amid Summer Sports Frenzy

Hey everyone, just a heads-up for all the loyal Emmerdale and Coronation Street fans out there—this week’s TV schedule has been thrown completely off balance again. Soaps are taking a backseat as the summer of sport continues to dominate the airwaves, with ITV making significant changes to accommodate UEFA Women’s Euro 2025.

If you were planning to kick off your Monday night (July 7th) with Emmerdale or Coronation Street, you’ll need to rethink your plans. Neither show is airing tonight as ITV shifts focus to the big Portugal vs Italy match, which runs from 7:15pm to 10:20pm. That match has effectively bumped the soaps off the schedule for the evening.

Normally, Emmerdale airs every weekday at 7:30pm, and Coronation Street typically hits our screens Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 8pm. But this week? Things are all over the place. Corrie fans won’t see an episode until Thursday, July 10th at 9pm—yes, that’s a later-than-usual slot—followed by another episode on Friday, July 11th at 8pm. Emmerdale will air on Tuesday as normal, but there’s no episode on Wednesday thanks to another football clash—this time between France and Wales. The soap will return Thursday at 7:30pm for a full hour, and then settle back into its regular Friday slot.

It’s frustrating for sure, especially with all the drama unfolding. Over on Coronation Street, the mystery surrounding Gary Windass’s attacker is heating up while he remains unconscious in hospital, with Maria and Liam completely unaware of what’s happened to him. The suspense is unbearable! Meanwhile in Emmerdale, the tension ramps up as Joe Tate gets abducted by the mysterious Doctor Crowley and taken to a makeshift hospital—yep, you read that right. And if that’s not enough to get you tuning in later this week, two brand-new characters, Ray and Celia, have just made their village debuts, stirring the pot even more.

So, while the football might be stealing the spotlight right now, there's no shortage of gripping soap action on the horizon—you’ll just need to keep track of the shuffled schedule. Thankfully, ITVX is always there if you miss a live airing or just want to binge the latest episodes. For now, patience is key as we ride out another sporty shake-up.

Stick with it, soap fans—our favourite drama-filled evenings will be back on track soon enough!
