This isn't a new episode or special, but it’s definitely something fans won't want to miss. Think of it as an intimate, behind-the-scenes evening where the co-creators and stars of the legendary sitcom will be sharing never-before-heard stories, hilarious moments, and the journey of how Gavin & Stacey came to life. For those who don’t know, Gavin & Stacey first aired back in 2007 and ran for three series, plus a few unforgettable Christmas specials – most notably the one in 2019 and the final one in 2024, which drew in a staggering 21 million viewers. The show had a massive cultural impact in the UK and beyond, becoming one of the BBC’s most beloved comedies. Ruth and James originally met on Fat Friends , and their friendship has now spanned over 25 years. This event will also reflect on that personal bond – one that has clearly helped shape the spirit of the show.

In fact, this live evening ties in with their new book When Gavin Met Stacey and Everything in Between , which is out on October 9. The book will take a deeper dive into the creative process and all the ups and downs they faced. As a bonus, anyone who buys a ticket to the live show will also receive a copy of the book.

There was a hint of this reunion earlier this year when they appeared together at the Hay Festival, and of course, Ruth recently picked up a BAFTA for her performance as Nessa in the final episode. She gave a heartfelt shout-out to James, calling him her “dear, dear, talented, lovely, kind, funny friend,” which really sums up the affection and mutual respect between the two.

So if you're a fan of the show – or just love a good creative success story – this is your chance to see the people behind Gavin & Stacey up close, telling the full story from Barry Island to Billericay.
