So, there’s been a big shake-up in the world of celebrity chefs—especially for Gino D’Acampo. If you’ve followed his career even casually, this news might come as a bit of a surprise. Or maybe not, depending on how closely you've kept up with recent headlines. The former This Morning favourite and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! winner has officially put his £4.2 million Hertfordshire mansion on the market and is setting his sights 11,000 miles away—Australia.
Now 48, Gino is reportedly making a serious pivot, both personally and professionally. This move comes after months of controversy surrounding his alleged inappropriate behaviour on set—claims that he continues to deny. However, ITV apparently thought it serious enough to end ties with him and even required him to undergo a language and behavioural course at one point. That, plus mounting pressure from older allegations dating back more than a decade—including reported sexist remarks toward former co-host Holly Willoughby—has certainly dimmed his standing on UK television.
Interestingly, his wife Jessica and their three children will stay in Britain for now. But insiders hint that if things go well, a full-time relocation could be on the cards. Despite the controversies, Gino still enjoys a loyal fanbase and a strong presence on social media. That’s something he seems ready to leverage as he builds his brand anew in Australia.
Of course, this all comes off the back of a turbulent financial chapter as well. His UK restaurant empire collapsed under the weight of £7.3 million in debt before it was rescued by new owners. And his cookware range, once quite successful, took a hit after misconduct allegations surfaced, leading to steep discounting and damage to the brand.
Still, in true Gino fashion, he’s not letting scandal—or setbacks—define the final act of his career. This isn’t just a retreat; it’s a calculated reinvention. Whatever you think of him, one thing’s for sure: Gino D’Acampo isn’t disappearing. He’s just changing time zones.
