Godiva Festival 2025 Lights Up Coventry with Music, Culture, and Community
Coventry is buzzing this weekend, and all eyes are on the city’s beloved Godiva Festival , taking place from 4th to 6th July at the iconic War Memorial Park. As I speak, the energy is already building, and the festival promises to be one of the most exciting events of the summer. Thousands are expected to gather over the three days, drawn in by the music, the atmosphere, and the legacy of a city that knows how to celebrate in style.

Originally launched in 1997 as a free, single-day event, the Godiva Festival has evolved into a full weekend of performances, activities, and cultural showcases. While it’s no longer free (standard day tickets start at £15, with weekend passes from £49.50), the value on offer is huge. This year’s line-up is proof of that, with big names like Marc Almond , Clean Bandit , and Ocean Colour Scene headlining across the weekend. Marc Almond is kicking things off on Friday evening, followed by the dancefloor-filling hits of Clean Bandit on Saturday, and then Birmingham legends Ocean Colour Scene closing the festival on Sunday.
But it’s not just about the big names. What makes Godiva special is its deep connection with local culture. From the Cov Stage featuring rising Midlands talent to the return of the Cov ConneX Kingston Stage — supported by the National Lottery and Arts Council England — the spotlight is firmly on homegrown music, especially celebrating the city's links with Jamaica. Expect everything from grime and reggae to DJ sets and Afrobeat rhythms, bringing a real community vibe to the festival.
Organised by Coventry City Council, Godiva Festival isn't just about the music. You’ll find food and drink stalls, street performers, sports sessions, craft areas, and entertainment for families. It’s a citywide celebration, not just a concert. The Council even froze ticket prices for 2025 and allocated £330,000 to keep the event accessible and exciting — a commitment that shows just how important this festival is to Coventry’s identity.
With gates opening at 6pm on Friday and midday on both Saturday and Sunday, the timing works well for families, casual visitors, and die-hard music fans alike. For those planning to attend, remember to bring valid photo ID along with your ticket — security will be tight, especially after past incidents of overcrowding. Only one small bag per person is allowed, and searches will be conducted on entry.
Transport to the site is well covered. The park is just a 10-minute walk from Coventry Railway Station, and buses from the city centre and University of Warwick will run frequently. For those driving, on-site parking is available for £15 per day, with CV3 6GF as the postcode to enter in your GPS. And if you're planning to fly a drone — don't. Coventry Police have declared a strict no-fly zone over the site throughout the weekend for safety reasons.
Whether you're there for the headline acts, the local talent, the food and drink, or simply the atmosphere, Godiva Festival 2025 is set to be a standout event. Coventry's proud musical heritage shines bright this weekend — and once again, Lady Godiva’s legacy gallops into modern times with spirit, sound, and soul.
