Hasaranga's Injury Blow Shakes Up Sri Lanka Ahead of Bangladesh T20Is
The cricket world has just been hit with a significant development ahead of the much-anticipated T20I series between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka’s premier leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga has been officially ruled out of the series after suffering a hamstring injury. Despite the injury, Sri Lanka has decided not to name a replacement for Hasaranga. Instead, he will return to Colombo immediately and begin his rehabilitation at the High Performance Center. With Hasaranga out, the captaincy reins will now be handled by Charith Asalanka, as the team heads into the T20I leg of the tour starting Thursday, July 10.
This T20I series was already under heavy scrutiny for Sri Lanka, especially after their earlier T20I struggles this year against New Zealand. Now, with Hasaranga missing, the team’s balance and spin attack will need a quick reshuffle.
