Joy Taylor Departs Fox Sports Amid Major FS1 Shakeup
So here’s some big news coming out of the sports media world—Joy Taylor is officially out at Fox Sports. Yep, after nearly a decade with the network, her time has come to an end as part of a broader shakeup at FS1. According to multiple reports, Fox Sports is canceling three shows— "Speak," "Breakfast Ball," and "The Facility." Taylor was a co-host of Speak , alongside Keyshawn Johnson and Paul Pierce. The show never quite found its footing with audiences, and the network decided not to renew her contract.
Now, this isn’t just a random move. It’s part of a more extensive restructuring, especially after the controversy surrounding former programming executive Charlie Dixon , who was ousted earlier this year following harassment allegations. In one of the lawsuits, a make-up artist claimed that Dixon sexually assaulted her—and that Taylor allegedly told her to “get over it.” Taylor strongly denied the accusation, but the drama definitely cast a shadow over her final months with the network. She even took a brief hiatus earlier this year amid the legal noise.

It’s important to note that Speak wasn’t the only casualty. FS1 is also pulling the plug on its morning shows Breakfast Ball and The Facility . Those programs featured some pretty big names—Craig Carton, Mark Schlereth, Danny Parkins on Breakfast Ball , and former NFL stars Emmanuel Acho, Chase Daniel, James Jones, and LeSean McCoy on The Facility . But again, the common denominator seems to be low ratings. None of these shows really broke through or built the kind of loyal viewership that networks like Fox need in this ultra-competitive media space.
Interestingly, all three of these shows were developed under Dixon’s leadership, which adds another layer to this story. With Dixon gone and his projects underperforming, Fox seems ready to wipe the slate clean. Meanwhile, The Herd with Colin Cowherd and First Things First will continue as usual, anchoring the midday lineup.
As for what’s next—FS1 will likely roll out some new shows soon to fill the gaps. And for Joy Taylor? Well, with her experience and media presence, it wouldn't be a surprise to see her land somewhere else in the sports world—or maybe even pivot into something new altogether.
This marks the end of an era for Taylor at Fox, but possibly the beginning of a new chapter elsewhere.
