Macy’s Fireworks Light Up NYC Sky in a Star-Studded 4th of July Celebration
Hey everyone, it’s the 4th of July and New York City is absolutely buzzing tonight! If you're not already tuned in, you're missing one of the most iconic annual celebrations in the U.S.—the 49th annual Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Show . This year, it’s back on the East River, and trust me, it’s bigger and bolder than ever.

This isn’t just your average fireworks display. We're talking about a full-on entertainment spectacle hosted by none other than Academy Award-winner Ariana DeBose —yes, the star of West Side Story . She’s leading a night of amazing performances with a lineup that includes the Jonas Brothers , Lenny Kravitz , Keke Palmer , Ava Max , Eric Church , and Trisha Yearwood . The soundtrack for the fireworks? That’s been crafted by musical powerhouses Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson and James Poyser , so expect a 25-minute musical journey with fireworks synchronized to perfection.
The fireworks themselves will launch from four massive barges and the Brooklyn Bridge , lighting up the sky between Pier 17 and the Downtown Manhattan Heliport in the Seaport District. Over 80,000 shells will burst across the skyline in more than 30 colors , with new projection mapping technology adding a stunning visual layer to the Brooklyn Bridge itself.
If you're in the city, there are designated areas for prime viewing—but heads up, most of the 100,000 free tickets offered through the city have already been claimed. Still, you can catch a great view from public access points like Montgomery Street , Broad Street , and Robert F. Wagner Sr. Place , while ADA-friendly viewing is available at Murry Bergtraum Softball Field .
Not in NYC? No worries. NBC is airing the entire event live from 8 to 10 p.m. ET , and it’s also streaming on Peacock . Spanish-language viewers can tune into Telemundo at 9 p.m., and if you miss it, NBC’s got an encore showing at 10 p.m.
So whether you’re standing riverside with your eyes to the sky, or watching from your living room, this celebration is all about coming together. Tonight, it’s not just about fireworks—it’s about music, unity, and the resilient spirit of America as we mark 249 years since the Declaration of Independence. Next year will be the big 5-0 for this show, but tonight? Tonight is magic.
Happy Independence Day, everyone!
