Noida Tragedy: BMW Crash Claims Uncle And Niece, Leaves Family Shattered

It’s one of those heartbreaking stories that really shakes you up—an ordinary family trip that turned into a life-shattering tragedy in seconds. A man from Noida, 27-year-old Raja, has died after spending two days in a coma. Just two days earlier, his five-year-old niece Ayaat was killed instantly in the same horrific crash. They were simply on their way back home after a quick visit to the hospital when their scooter was hit by a speeding BMW.

The incident happened in Noida’s Sector 20. Ayaat had been in discomfort late that night because a small insect had crawled into her ear. Her father, Gul Mohammad, an electrician, and Raja, her maternal uncle who lived with the family, didn’t think twice before hopping on the scooter to rush her to the hospital. After her treatment was done, the three were returning when the tragedy struck. A Haryana-registered BMW, allegedly being driven rashly, slammed into their scooter.

Ayaat was thrown off and died on the spot. Raja and Gul were critically injured and rushed to different hospitals. Raja slipped into a coma and was declared dead Monday morning. Gul Mohammad, 45, remains in critical condition in the ICU.

The BMW was reportedly being driven by two young men—Yash Sharma and Abhishek Rawat, both 22 years old. One of them had borrowed the car from someone else and, as revealed in the investigation, they were returning from a birthday party when the accident happened. Whether they were under the influence at the time is still being looked into. The car has since been seized, and both men were arrested on charges of rash driving and causing death by negligence.

Meanwhile, the family is left in pieces. In the cramped bylanes of Sadarpur’s Khajoor Colony, Ayaat’s mother Tanjeela waits in shock and silence. She hadn’t even seen her daughter’s body when she spoke to the media. Her grief is compounded by uncertainty—how to pay the hospital bills, how to break the news to her husband who still doesn’t know their daughter is gone.

They had migrated from Bihar, hoping for a better life. And in the blink of an eye, everything has changed. A little girl’s laughter silenced forever. A young man’s life cut short. And a family that now has to figure out how to move forward—without answers, without closure, and without two of their own.
