Tragedy in Bermondsey: Father and Son Fatally Stabbed in London Office Attack
So, something incredibly tragic happened recently in South London that has really shaken the Bermondsey community. A father and son were stabbed to death in a shocking incident that took place on Monday afternoon at a business address on Long Lane. The victims have been identified as 58-year-old Terry McMillan and his 27-year-old son, Brendan McMillan.
Terry was declared dead at the scene, while Brendan sadly passed away later in hospital from his injuries. It's an absolutely heartbreaking situation for the family and friends who are now facing an unimaginable loss.

Police were called to the scene just after 1pm, where a total of four men were found injured. Alongside Terry and Brendan, two others were taken to hospital. One of those men, in his 30s, remains in a life-threatening condition, and the other, believed to be the 31-year-old suspect, is also hospitalized but not critically injured. He’s been arrested on suspicion of murder, and although there's no official motive released yet, police have said the people involved were known to each other. That gives the indication that this wasn’t a random act, but rather something more targeted and personal.
The attack happened near the headquarters of the Trademark Group, a property development firm Terry McMillan had founded back in 1998. According to the McMillan Family Trust, he was committed not only to business, but to transforming young lives through community work. His son Brendan was described by his rugby club, Old Colfeians, as someone who "lit up every room he walked into"—a kind, funny, and genuine person who’ll be deeply missed.
Tributes have been pouring in. The local MP Neil Coyle called the event “truly awful” and reassured residents that it appears to be an isolated incident. Still, many locals are understandably shaken, especially those who walk that route regularly. One resident mentioned how uneasy it now feels to walk past what used to be an ordinary office space.
Detectives from the Met Police say the investigation is progressing quickly. Crime scenes have been secured, including one at a nearby hotel where the suspect fled, though it's been confirmed he wasn’t staying there. Officers are also urging anyone with information to come forward.
This kind of violence—especially when it happens in daylight, in a professional setting—hits hard. It's not just about a criminal investigation now; it's about a community trying to process a tragedy that feels so close to home. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this devastating loss.
