Vancouver's Night Sky Set to Dazzle in 2025 Celebration of Light

Hey everyone! If you’re in Vancouver—or planning to visit this summer—you cannot miss what’s coming to English Bay. The 2025 Honda Celebration of Light is about to set the sky ablaze, and it's shaping up to be one of the most electrifying events the city has ever seen.

Starting Saturday, July 19 , Team Midnight Sun from the Yukon is back to kick off the show. You might remember them—they actually won back in 2022 and left a massive impression. Now, they’re back with a team of volunteer pyrotechnicians to light up the night once again. And what’s really special this year? All three competing teams are Canadian! That’s a first in the festival’s history.

There will be three spectacular nights of fireworks: July 19, July 23, and July 26, all launched from a barge in English Bay. Before the fireworks begin at 10:15 p.m. , get ready for a full lineup of entertainment. Starting as early as 2 p.m. , there’ll be food trucks, music, and activities. At 6:30 p.m. , the Canadian Forces Snowbirds will take to the skies, followed by a high-tech electric drone show at 10:00 p.m.—a breathtaking lead-in to the main fireworks.

Now, let’s talk logistics. The event is free if you want to find a spot on the beach, but if you’re looking for premium seating, tickets are available. For instance, you can snag a grandstand seat for $68, or go all out at Inukshuk Point with dinner, dessert, and a drink for $243.

Pro tip: don’t drive if you can help it. Expect major road closures in the West End and Kitsilano starting around 5 to 6 p.m. , and good luck finding parking! Transit is your best friend here—TransLink is adding extra buses, SkyTrain service every 2-3 minutes, and even late-night SeaBus sailings. Mobi and Lime are boosting bike and scooter options too, with staff helping manage the crowds.

Oh, and a quick word of advice— leave your pets at home . Fireworks can be loud and unpredictable, and the crowds might make animals anxious. If you bring your dog, make sure they’re leashed and have proper ID.

Expect huge crowds, vibrant energy, and some of the best fireworks you’ll ever see, all right here in the heart of Vancouver. If you’re watching from the water, be safe—boaters must stay outside the designated exclusion zone and absolutely do not mix boating and alcohol.

Whether you’re a long-time local or a first-time visitor, the Celebration of Light is a signature Vancouver experience. Bring your sunscreen, pack a poncho just in case, and get there early. It’s going to be one unforgettable night—three times over. See you under the fireworks!
