Barcelona Wraps Up Asia Tour With Friendly Clash vs. Daegu FC
Barcelona’s summer tour of Asia is wrapping up, and their final stop is a friendly against South Korean side Daegu FC — and it’s creating quite a buzz. If you’ve been following the team’s preseason, you already know La Blaugrana have been in dominant form. After a 3–1 win over Vissel Kobe in Japan, they absolutely lit up the scoreboard in Seoul, putting seven past FC Seoul in a wild 7–3 thriller.
Now, their final preseason matchup in Asia is set for Monday, August 4, against Daegu FC at Daegu iM Bank Park. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 a.m. Eastern Time — that’s 4 a.m. Pacific and noon in the UK. And here’s the best part: the match will be streamed live for free on Barcelona’s official YouTube channel — available worldwide except in South Korea. If you're in the U.S., U.K., or Canada, it’ll also be shown on DAZN.

So why all the hype? Well, Daegu FC has been struggling massively this season. They’re currently at the bottom of the K League standings with just 14 points from 24 matches, while even the second-worst team in the league has nearly twice as many. Needless to say, they’re not expected to put up much of a fight against a high-flying Barça squad.
That said, this game isn’t about the competition — it’s about preparation. Manager Hansi Flick is expected to use this match to experiment with tactics and give fringe players some time to shine before the La Liga season begins. Joan Garcia will likely start in goal again, while young talents like Pau Cubarsí and Lamine Yamal are set to feature heavily. There’s also talk of seeing Pedri, Dani Olmo, and Ferran Torres in the starting lineup.
In the second half, a host of changes are expected. New signing Wojciech Szczesny is set to take over in goal, and fan favorites like Frenkie de Jong, Gavi, and even Lewandowski will likely make appearances. It’s a chance for the squad to gel and sharpen up before their next preseason fixture — the Joan Gamper Trophy match against Como on August 10, where former Barça midfielder Cesc Fàbregas will be managing the Italian side.
From there, the real action begins as Barça kicks off their La Liga title defense against Mallorca on August 16. But for now, fans around the world can enjoy one last free taste of Barça in preseason mode — and maybe a few more goals while they’re at it.
