BBC to Showcase Reading & Leeds Festival 2025 Nationwide
The excitement around Reading and Leeds Festival 2025 is building, and this year the BBC is making sure no one misses a moment. The August Bank Holiday weekend is set to be packed with music, and audiences across the country will be able to experience the very best of the festival without even stepping foot on site.
From Thursday, August 21 to Monday, August 25, BBC Radio 1 will be right at the heart of it all, broadcasting live from Reading and delivering performances from the Main Stage and the Chevron Stage. Listeners can expect headline sets, backstage interviews, and plenty of surprises throughout the weekend. Presenters like Vicky Hawkesworth, Nat O’Leary, Minah Shannon, Sam and Danni will guide listeners through the action, while BBC Sounds ensures that everything is available to catch up on later.

On television, BBC One is set to bring viewers closer to the headline acts with special broadcasts. Chappell Roan’s highly anticipated performance at Reading Festival will air on Friday, August 22 at 10:40 pm. Known for her bold, theatrical style and powerful debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess , her set promises to be one of the weekend’s biggest moments. Then, on Saturday, August 23 at 11:55 pm, Bring Me The Horizon will take over screens with their heavy-hitting headline show. As one of the UK’s most successful rock bands, their explosive performance is sure to make waves. And for anyone still craving festival energy afterwards, a special highlights show will be broadcast on Thursday, August 28.
For fans who prefer to stream, BBC iPlayer will serve as the ultimate festival hub. Jack Saunders and Sian Eleri will host live coverage each day from Reading, starting at 2:00 pm. Viewers can expect performances, interviews, and behind-the-scenes moments. Performances will also remain available on-demand for 30 days, with a curated compilation of standout festival moments available to stream for a full year.
BBC Introducing will once again shine a spotlight on rising talent, hosting more than twenty emerging artists across both festival sites. Performers like Amie Blu, Chanel Yates, and Nxdia are set to take the stage, following in the footsteps of stars such as Ed Sheeran and The 1975 who once started on this platform. Each act will also have a track filmed for BBC Music’s YouTube channel, offering even wider exposure.
Meanwhile, in Leeds, Bramham Park will welcome tens of thousands of festivalgoers. With road closures and diversions in place, local residents have been advised to plan their travel carefully during the festival weekend. Organisers are aiming to minimise disruption, but with huge crowds expected between Thursday and Sunday, patience on the roads will be essential.
Headliners this year include Chappell Roan, Bring Me The Horizon, Travis Scott, and Hozier, alongside major names like Bloc Party, Becky Hill, AJ Tracey and Trippie Redd. But beyond the big names, the festival is also buzzing about underrated acts such as Jasmine.4.T, Wench!, Origami Angel, and High Vis, all of whom bring fresh energy to the lineup.
Whether on site at Reading and Leeds, tuning in on Radio 1, watching at home on BBC One, or streaming highlights on iPlayer, festival fans across the UK will be part of the action. The stage is set for another unforgettable Bank Holiday weekend.
