Coaches Moved to Tears on The Voice Australia 2025
Have you seen the latest from The Voice Australia ? The 2025 season is already delivering unforgettable moments, and the blind auditions this week had everyone talking. The stage was set for raw talent, heartfelt performances, and yes—coaches being moved to tears.
It all started with Ellaphon Ta, a 27-year-old youth worker from Auckland. His rendition of The Middle by Zedd, Maren Morris, and Grey was so emotional that every single chair turned. Ellaphon’s story added an extra layer of depth—music had been his refuge through a difficult childhood, and with his wife and six-week-old daughter watching, the performance became truly personal. The coaches were visibly moved. Richard Marx called it “one of the greatest voices I’ve ever heard,” while Kate Miller-Heidke admitted she had been transported to another world. Melanie C said Ellaphon sang directly from his soul, and Ronan Keating even shared that he got goosebumps. In the end, Ellaphon chose Team Ronan.

Then there was Cherie Sandoval, 35, from the Gold Coast. A former professional Brazilian Samba dancer, Cherie brought high energy and a show-stopping flair with Livin’ la Vida Loca by Ricky Martin. Chairs turned quickly, and she earned praise for her stamina and stage presence. Melanie C was impressed that Cherie performed with such intensity without tiring, Kate Miller-Heidke called her a “born performer,” and Richard Marx simply said she “crushed it.” Cherie ultimately joined Team Melanie, ready to bring her vibrant energy to the competition.
Euan Hart, a 25-year-old from Sydney, took a different approach. His cool, understated take on Fleetwood Mac’s Dreams captivated the judges. Both Kate and Ronan turned their chairs, but Euan felt a connection with Kate’s vision and chose to join her team. Kate admitted she had been totally transfixed, and Ronan told him he “looked like a star.”
Finally, Olivia Coe Fox, a 21-year-old Wiradjuri woman from Sydney, delivered one of the most memorable performances of the night. Singing I Am Australian by The Seekers, she wove in Yawuru, an Indigenous language from Western Australia. The performance left Ronan and Kate visibly emotional. After four chair turns, Ronan strategically blocked Kate to secure Olivia for his team. Kate described the moment as giving her “full body goosebumps,” while Ronan admitted he was incredibly moved. Richard Marx added that her voice could make even the simplest song sound extraordinary.

With coaches often moved to tears and contestants bringing their own stories and styles to the stage, it’s clear that this year will be remembered as one of the most inspiring seasons yet.
