Coldplay Makes History with 10 Nights at Wembley

If you’re in London this summer, there’s one event that has everyone talking: Coldplay is taking over Wembley Stadium. After performing to millions across 43 countries on their Music of the Spheres World Tour, the band is coming home to the city where it all began. This marks 25 years since their debut album, and the excitement in the air is electric. For ten nights straight, from late August into early September, fans will experience something extraordinary, as Coldplay breaks the previous record of eight shows at the venue set by Take That and Taylor Swift.

The tour has already been hailed as the most-attended concert tour in history, and the Wembley dates promise to be nothing short of spectacular. Organizers are strongly encouraging fans to use public transport to get to and from the stadium, with Tube and National Rail options recommended. Wembley has strict rules for what can be brought inside: bags must be smaller than A4 size, water bottles should be empty and made of soft plastic, and any posters can only be A3 or smaller.

Concertgoers will be treated to an impressive lineup of support acts before Coldplay takes the stage. Each night will begin with the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel, who will also join Coldplay during the main set. Palestinian-Chilean pop star Elyanna will perform, having collaborated with the band on last year’s single We Pray . Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Ayra Starr, Chloe Qisha, Beabadoobee, and Tems will each take their turn as final support acts, depending on the date.

The shows are expected to be visually stunning and highly interactive. Fans will receive light-up wristbands to glow along with the music, and the stadium itself will feature a kinetic dancefloor, powered in part by the audience. Sustainable energy initiatives are a major focus of the tour. Chris Martin and the band have reportedly reduced their carbon footprint by 59% compared to previous tours, using biodegradable confetti, eco-friendly fireworks, and even exercise bikes to power parts of the stage.

Set lists are rumored to include a mix of iconic hits and fan favorites like Viva La Vida , Clocks , A Sky Full of Stars , and Fix You , alongside some surprise rarities. Chris Martin is known for his audience interaction, with moments where fans can request songs and even join him on stage. The tour, which began in 2022 to support their ninth album Music of the Spheres , also celebrated their tenth record, Moon Music , released in 2024.

Beyond the stadium, Coldplay’s London presence extends across the city. At King’s Cross, fans can visit a pop-up merch shop and a free photo exhibition called Confetti Diaries by the band’s official tour photographer. Screenings of A Film For The Future , accompanying the Moon Music album, will also be held. At Wembley Park, the Spanish Steps have been turned yellow in honor of Coldplay’s 25-year milestone, creating a public art installation for fans to enjoy.

With ten sold-out nights, record-breaking performances, and a focus on sustainability, Coldplay’s Wembley run is shaping up to be an unforgettable chapter in their storied career—and a celebration for fans both old and new.
