Dean Cain Swears In as ICE Agent to Support Trump’s Deportation Agenda
You probably remember Dean Cain best as Superman from the '90s TV show Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman . Well, it turns out the former Man of Steel is taking on a whole new role — and this time, it’s not in Hollywood. Cain just announced that he’s becoming a real-life agent with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, better known as ICE.
Yep, you heard that right. He’s going from capes to badges.

Cain revealed the news during an appearance on Fox News, explaining that after sharing a recruitment video for ICE, the response was so overwhelming that he decided to go all in. He’s already a sworn deputy sheriff and reserve police officer, but now he's making it official with ICE. He said he’s planning to be sworn in “ASAP.”
The announcement comes at a time when the federal agency is aggressively ramping up its efforts to detain and deport undocumented immigrants — a centerpiece of former President Trump’s immigration policy, which has been reactivated with his return to office. ICE recently received a massive funding boost — more than $75 billion — as part of Trump’s latest spending bill. The money is going toward doubling the agency’s staff, with a goal of hiring 10,000 new agents by 2029.
Cain says his decision to join ICE is all about patriotism. “People have to step up,” he said. “This country was built on patriots stepping up, whether it was popular or not. I truly believe this is the right thing.” He added that he hopes more former officers will join him in helping protect the country and meet ICE’s new recruitment targets.
So far, the campaign seems to be working. ICE claims it’s already received over 80,000 applications for those 10,000 positions, even offering bonuses of up to $50,000 and student loan assistance. The push has included old-school-style posters saying things like “Defend the Homeland,” featuring Trump and Homeland Security officials.
But not everyone’s on board. ICE's tactics — including sweeping immigration raids and reports of due process violations — have sparked protests across the U.S. Activists argue the system is increasingly overreaching, even targeting legal residents and citizens in some cases.
Still, Cain stands firm in his decision. He’s made headlines before for calling modern superhero stories “too woke,” and now he’s putting his words into action — literally suiting up for what he sees as a cause worth fighting for.
From fictional superhero to federal agent — it’s a twist even Superman’s writers couldn’t have predicted.
