So, here's something that’s been turning heads recently—Dean Cain, yeah, that Dean Cain, the guy who played Superman in the '90s TV show Lois & Clark , is back in the spotlight, but not for saving the day in a red cape. Instead, he’s taken on a new role that’s getting a lot of people talking.

In a recent video he posted on social media, Cain announced that he’s backing ICE—the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency—and he's encouraging Americans to join the force. He said this is about helping protect the country and supporting first responders. And to be fair, he did point out that he’s not just talking about it—he’s a sworn law enforcement officer himself, though not with ICE specifically.

The video, which feels like a recruitment ad, paints ICE as being on the front lines of keeping America safe. He listed off the kinds of criminals ICE has arrested—terrorists, traffickers, gang members—and talked about the job’s perks: things like a $50,000 signing bonus, student loan forgiveness, and early retirement benefits. He also emphasized that you don’t need a degree anymore to apply, and even the age restrictions have been dropped—now, teens can join, and older folks, too.

Cain’s message lines up closely with Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s big recruitment push this summer. She’s been showing up on ICE raids, often the only one without a mask, and calling this a “defining moment in our nation’s history.” Her goal seems to be to rebrand ICE as a patriotic calling.

But not everyone’s on board with this message. A lot of people are pushing back, especially since recent data shows that about 70% of those detained by ICE don’t even have criminal records in the U.S. Critics are saying that ICE is targeting more than just “the worst of the worst,” as Noem claims.

And of course, Cain’s involvement has drawn a lot of fire. He’s a vocal conservative, and he's been known to criticize what he calls "woke" changes to the Superman character. Some fans are saying he’s lost sight of what Superman stands for. One person even commented that Superman himself would be disappointed. Cain's response? “Not a chance.”

He also clarified that despite rumors, he hasn’t officially joined ICE—but technically, with the new age rules, he could. For now, he remains a sworn deputy in Virginia.

So yeah, Dean Cain isn’t just remembering his Superman days—he’s stepping into a very real, very controversial national debate. Whether you see him as a patriot or a provocateur probably depends on where you stand.
