FBI Searches John Bolton’s Home Amid National Security Probe

Trump responded to the news by claiming he knew nothing about the search, though he suggested that, as the chief law enforcement officer, he could have been involved. He also called Bolton a “low life” and criticized his past record, while oddly complimenting him for influencing policies under the Bush administration. Meanwhile, Vice President JD Vance emphasized that the search was evidence-gathering, saying that any legal action would be based on law rather than political motivation.
The public nature of this search has raised eyebrows because it contrasts with past FBI procedures, like the Mar-a-Lago search in 2022, which was mostly kept private. Social media posts from top federal officials, including FBI Director Kash Patel, appeared to underscore a tough stance on public corruption, though some interpreted it as signaling political overtones.
