Grow a Garden’s Trading Update is Here—and Yes, You Can Make Cake Now!
So, if you’ve been wondering what’s new in Grow a Garden , get ready—because the long-awaited Trading update has finally dropped, and it’s a big one! Not only has trading with other players been officially added to the game, but it’s also opened the door to a brand-new Cooking event —yep, with actual recipes, tasty rewards, and even cake-related cosmetics. Let me walk you through what’s going on, because there's a lot to unpack.
First up, the core of this update is Trading . You can now gift and receive items with other players, but it’s not a free-for-all. You’ll need a Trading Ticket , which costs either 100,000 Sheckles or 19 Robux. If you’re paying with Sheckles, though, keep in mind the tickets are only available during limited-time shop windows—so it’s something you’ll want to grab when it pops up. Robux, on the other hand, can be used anytime. Once you’ve got a ticket, you can showcase what you’re offering and start trading your plants, seeds, and more.

Now here’s where it gets really fun—the Cooking event hosted by Chris P. Bacon , the adorable pig NPC in the middle of the map. To participate, you’ll cook dishes using your plants, toss them into a cauldron, and present them to Chris. He has cravings, and if you feed him something he really wants, he might reward you with something rare—like the Taco Fern seed. It’s a Prismatic-tier plant that sells for an average of 85,000 Sheckles, and it grows multiple taco-shaped fruits. But getting it isn’t guaranteed; the better the food, the better your odds. So cook big, rare, and crave-worthy dishes!
Ten new seeds have also been introduced, like Jalapeno, Grand Tomato, and Superglaze from the Gourmet Seed Pack , while others like Twisted Tangle or Veinpetal are crafted or tied to event quests. And for collectors, new pets have been added too—like the Bagel Bunny , Spaghetti Sloth , and the ultra-rare French Fry Ferret from the new Gourmet egg.
And yes, there’s cake ! The Food Crate cosmetic drops include Pink and Blue Cake, Coffee Machines, and even a Hotdog Cart. Odds vary, but there’s a 25% chance for each cake type—so if you’re lucky, you can finally decorate your garden like a bakery.
So whether you're into trading rare plants, cooking up taco-themed crops, or just want to collect cake cosmetics, this update has something for you. Keep your eyes out for those Trading Tickets and start cooking—because cake isn’t going to bake itself!
