Man Found with Stab Wound in Plymouth Park
A shocking scene unfolded in Plymouth late last week when a man was discovered with what appeared to be a stab wound inside Patna Park. It happened on Friday evening, around 7:40 p.m., when emergency services were urgently called to the park after reports came in of a man found seriously injured.
The victim, described as being in his 30s, had suffered a severe injury. An air ambulance was even dispatched and landed nearby, showing just how serious the situation was considered at the time. He was taken to hospital and, although his injuries were significant, it has been confirmed that he remains in a stable condition.
Police acted quickly and arrested a 35-year-old man from Plymouth on suspicion of attempted murder. However, he has since been released while the investigation continues. Officers are still actively working on the case, and they are appealing for anyone who might have been in the area at the time or who may have any useful information to come forward. A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police provided an update, confirming the sequence of events: police were called at about 7:40 p.m. following a report of a man found with a suspected stab wound, the victim was treated and taken to hospital, and a man was arrested but later released pending further enquiries.
It is not yet clear what exactly led up to the incident, and details about how the victim came to be injured remain under investigation. The seriousness of the initial charge of attempted murder, however, shows how gravely the case is being treated.
For the community, it has been a deeply unsettling incident. Parks are usually thought of as safe public spaces, and something like this naturally raises concerns.
