Big news is coming from Massachusetts in the world of online gaming. The Massachusetts State Lottery Commission, or MSLC, has officially chosen Aristocrat Interactive—also known as NeoGames US LLP—as the vendor for its new online lottery, or iLottery, platform. The decision was unanimous and marks a major step forward for the state’s lottery modernization plans.

The contract with Aristocrat is set to kick off on July 1, 2026, with an initial term of five years and three options for three-year extensions. The services Aristocrat will provide are extensive: a fully integrated iLottery platform, a wide range of game content including eInstants and draw games, proprietary systems for managing both players and games, and an aggregation platform to host third-party content. Essentially, this is a complete digital lottery ecosystem designed to bring the Massachusetts Lottery into the online era.

This move has been in the works for some time. Governor Maura Healey signed the state budget back in July 2024, officially greenlighting online lottery play with an initial launch projected for December 2025. However, as often happens with large-scale projects in Massachusetts, the rollout experienced several delays. The launch date was first pushed to spring 2026, and then to summer 2026. MSLC Executive Director Mark William Bracken has confirmed the summer 2026 target but hinted that an earlier summer launch is still possible.

One interesting aspect of this partnership is the revenue-sharing model. Aristocrat can earn up to 5% of Massachusetts Lottery’s online sales revenue, which aligns both parties’ interests toward growing player engagement and maximizing revenue. Bracken emphasized that Aristocrat offered the best overall value and brings a proven, reliable platform that supports the Lottery’s mission of funding early childhood education and care throughout the state.

Aristocrat’s CEO Moti Malul expressed pride in being selected, highlighting the company’s focus on innovative and responsible online play, strong integration capabilities, and a content portfolio designed to boost player engagement. Massachusetts is not Aristocrat’s first iLottery project—recently, they began operations with the New Hampshire Lottery and signed a six-year agreement with the Michigan Lottery that also starts in July 2026. Through partnerships like NeoPollard Interactive, Aristocrat also serves other North American markets including Alberta, North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.

With this platform, the Massachusetts Lottery is poised to blend its high-performing retail program with a digital experience that modernizes its offerings and broadens access for players across the state.
