MetLife Stadium Rolls Out Major Upgrades for Record-Breaking Year
MetLife Stadium is not just opening its doors for another NFL season — it’s doing so after the busiest, most event-packed summer in its history, and with a fresh set of upgrades designed to make the fan experience even better. The home of the New York Giants and New York Jets has been buzzing for months, hosting everything from sold-out concerts to major international soccer matches, and now it’s ready to roll right into football season.
Ahead of Saturday’s preseason matchup between the Giants and Jets, the stadium has unveiled a series of improvements. Four massive new video boards have been installed in each corner, offering crystal-clear 8MM high-resolution LED displays with sharper contrast, better viewing angles, and crisper visuals. These are just the first step in a larger project that will replace all LED screens across the stadium — from tunnel entrance boards and sideline-facing screens to the 360-degree ribbon board — with completion set for early 2026, just in time for the FIFA World Cup Final. Audio quality has also been boosted, thanks to over 1,000 new loudspeakers, updated subwoofers, and the latest amplification tech, so every cheer, announcement, and touchdown call is heard loud and clear.

Connectivity has gotten a major lift too. Verizon has expanded 5G coverage and capacity throughout the seating bowl, luxury clubs, suites, and even down on the field, ensuring that fans can share every moment instantly. For guests with sensory sensitivities, two sensory pods have been installed to provide a calming environment, and sensory bags — complete with noise-cancelling headphones, fidget tools, and weighted lap pads — are available at guest services.
All of this comes during a year in which the stadium has smashed records. It hosted an unprecedented 40 events before the NFL regular season even begins — including 23 concerts, 9 FIFA Club World Cup matches, and the first-ever two-night WWE SummerSlam. Beyoncé became the top-selling artist in stadium history with five sold-out shows, while The Weeknd set a record as the top-selling Black male artist here. In just one stretch, the venue pulled off four concerts in five days by three different headliners — a logistical first.
The summer’s numbers are staggering: over 1.9 million fans attended events, $138.6 million was generated in ticket sales from a dozen shows alone, and multiple attendance records were broken. And the momentum isn’t slowing down — by 2026, MetLife will host eight FIFA World Cup matches, including the final, bringing over a million fans and billions in economic impact to the region.
So, when fans file in for the Giants-Jets preseason game, they’ll be stepping into a stadium that’s louder, brighter, faster-connected, and more inclusive than ever — a fitting stage for one of the most high-profile sports and entertainment venues in the world.
