Polish F-16 Crash During Airshow Rehearsal Claims Pilot’s Life
A tragic accident has shaken Poland’s Air Force and the nation at large. During a rehearsal flight for an upcoming airshow in Radom, central Poland, an F-16 fighter jet of the Polish Air Force crashed onto the runway. Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz confirmed the pilot’s death and personally visited the crash site. In his message, he honored the fallen officer as someone who “always served the Fatherland with dedication and great courage.” He added that the pilot’s loss was not only a personal tragedy for his loved ones but also a great loss for the entire Polish Army.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk also expressed his sorrow, saying on social media that the nation bows its head in respect and gratitude. He extended heartfelt condolences to the pilot’s family, underscoring the depth of the loss felt across Poland. The Polish Army released its own statement, describing the death as “a great loss for Poland and the entire Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland.”
