Raja Jackson’s Wrestling Incident Sparks Outrage and Concern
You might have seen some of the disturbing footage circulating online over the weekend. Raja Jackson, the 25-year-old son of MMA legend Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, was involved in a shocking incident at an independent wrestling event in California that has left the wrestling and MMA communities reeling. The footage, streamed live on the platform Kick, shows Jackson entering the ring during a Knokx Pro Wrestling match and violently attacking professional wrestler Stuart Smith, also known as Syko Stu.
In the video, Jackson is seen hoisting Smith above his head and slamming him hard onto the mat. But it didn’t stop there. He then mounted Smith, who appeared unconscious, and delivered more than 20 punches to his head before other wrestlers rushed in to pull him off. According to reports, the attack was supposed to be part of a planned wrestling spot, but the level of violence and the injuries Smith sustained were far beyond what anyone expected. Smith was reportedly rushed to the hospital with serious injuries, though his current condition has been described as “awake and stable” by Jackson’s father.
The incident reportedly stemmed from a tense exchange earlier in the day, in which Smith allegedly struck Raja with a beer can during a pre-match moment. It seems that Raja believed he could get “payback” in the ring, but the situation escalated far beyond what was intended for a staged wrestling event. Wrestling historian Dave Meltzer even described the attack as “the worst thing I’ve ever seen in a ring.”

Raja Jackson has some experience in combat sports. He previously competed as an amateur MMA fighter, compiling a 4-0 record, and made his professional debut in 2023, which he lost by unanimous decision. His father, Quinton Jackson, addressed the incident on social media, explaining that Raja had suffered a concussion from sparring only days earlier and had no business participating in a wrestling event. He called the attack “a work that went wrong” and expressed deep concern for both his son’s health and the well-being of Smith.
Rampage Jackson emphasized that Raja was not a professional wrestler and that the violent escalation was a result of bad judgment. He apologized on behalf of his son to the wrestling promotion and fans, while confirming that Smith was now stable.
The incident has sparked intense debate online about the blurred lines between staged wrestling entertainment and real-life violence, as well as the responsibilities of athletes stepping into unfamiliar arenas. Authorities and wrestling officials are continuing to monitor the situation, and updates on Smith’s recovery are being closely followed.
This shocking episode serves as a reminder that even planned entertainment can quickly spiral out of control when combat sports instincts take over, and it has left fans, commentators, and fellow athletes calling for careful scrutiny of what happened in that ring.
