Rudy Giuliani Recovering After Serious Car Crash in New Hampshire
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, once famously known as “America’s Mayor,” was hospitalized this past weekend after being injured in a car accident in New Hampshire. According to statements from his head of security, Michael Ragusa, and the New Hampshire State Police, Giuliani’s vehicle was struck from behind at a high speed on Saturday evening. The impact left him with a fractured thoracic vertebra, along with multiple cuts, bruises, and injuries to his left arm and lower leg.
Despite the severity of the crash, Giuliani is said to be in good spirits and recovering steadily. He was transported to a nearby trauma center immediately after the accident, where doctors evaluated his injuries and stabilized him. Ragusa emphasized that Giuliani remained alert and conscious throughout and assured the public that his condition is not life-threatening.
What makes the circumstances surrounding this accident even more remarkable is what happened just before the collision. Giuliani had reportedly pulled over to help a woman who flagged him down, claiming she was the victim of a domestic violence incident. He called 911 and stayed on the scene until officers arrived. Shortly after, while still near the area, Giuliani’s vehicle was struck, and the crash unfolded.

The New Hampshire State Police later confirmed that their officers had already been investigating a domestic violence case nearby when Giuliani’s accident occurred. They described how both vehicles involved in the crash were pushed into the median and heavily damaged. Troopers and emergency crews rushed over to provide aid, and three people, including Giuliani, were taken to the hospital.
His son, Andrew Giuliani, expressed gratitude to supporters in a post on social media, calling his father “the toughest SOB I’ve ever seen.” He added that the family appreciated the prayers and well-wishes pouring in since the news broke.
Although Giuliani’s health is the immediate focus, his accident comes during a turbulent period in his personal and professional life. Since his role as Donald Trump’s personal attorney after the 2020 election, Giuliani has been entangled in significant legal and financial troubles. He is currently facing charges in both Georgia and Arizona over alleged election subversion efforts. Additionally, a defamation case brought by two former Georgia election workers resulted in a $148 million judgment against him, a financial blow that continues to hang over his future.
Yet, despite these struggles, Giuliani has remained close to Trump and active in Republican politics. Just last month, Trump praised him as “the greatest mayor in the history of New York” and highlighted his ongoing involvement in government advisory roles.
For now, Giuliani is focused on recovery. His spokesperson noted that he is eager to return to his work soon, with his medical team optimistic about his progress. What could have been a far more tragic outcome has instead become another chapter in Giuliani’s complicated, and often dramatic, public life.
