South Park Declares War on Trump—and It's Gloriously Unhinged

Okay, so here’s what’s going on: South Park has officially gone to war with Donald Trump—and it’s exactly the kind of chaotic, fearless comedy blitz we’ve all come to expect from the show. And honestly? It couldn’t have come at a better time.

The creators, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, kicked off the 27th season of South Park by taking direct aim at Trump 2.0—portraying him as a lawsuit-happy, Satan-sleeping caricature with a not-so-subtle jab at his masculinity. Naturally, the White House didn’t take it well. Trump lashed back, calling South Park “fourth-rate” and “irrelevant,” but curiously… didn’t deny the joke about his anatomy. Instead, he bizarrely claimed to be a “tripod.” Yep, that's what this has come to.

But rather than retreating after the first shot, South Park doubled down. The trailer for their second episode puts Homeland Security—and specifically Kristi Noem, now nicknamed “ICE Barbie”—in their crosshairs. The satire here isn’t pulling punches. ICE agents are mocked for rounding up immigrants who’ve done nothing more than attend their scheduled asylum hearings. It’s framed as if they’re the bad guys in a sting operation targeting innocent people outside a PetSmart. The absurdity is the point.

Even funnier? ICE tried to recruit using a screengrab from the show—seriously, they used a satirical cartoon to boost their masked-thug image. South Park responded on X with, “Wait, so we ARE relevant? #eatabagofdicks.” Classic.

Trump’s latest presidency—aka Trump 2.0—has been marked by moves so outrageous they practically write episodes themselves. Cancel cancer research funding? Sure. Turn the Rose Garden into a roller derby rink? Why not. Threaten Rosie O’Donnell’s citizenship? Of course. And through it all, Parker and Stone are finding a treasure trove of material.

This isn’t the first time South Park has picked a fight with a powerful figure. The Church of Scientology, radical extremists, celebrities—no one’s off limits. What makes this feud different is that Trump, who usually fires back hard at critics, seems unusually quiet when it comes to South Park . Maybe, just maybe, he knows they punch back harder—and funnier—than anyone else.

So yeah, South Park is on a rampage. And if you're worried about the state of American democracy, this might be the comic relief—and wake-up call—we all need. Because satire has never felt more necessary.
