South Park Takes Savage Aim at Kristi Noem and Right-Wing America

So, if you thought South Park had lost its edge, think again. The show just aired one of its most scathing and over-the-top episodes yet—season 27’s “Got a Nut”—and it’s making headlines for how viciously it goes after right-wing figures, especially Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

The episode is split into two outrageous storylines. On one side, we’ve got fourth grader Clyde suddenly becoming a famous white nationalist podcaster—literally peddling supplements and trashing minorities just to get into viral debates. It’s textbook “own the libs” content, with Clyde styled after real-life figures like Charlie Kirk. Naturally, Eric Cartman isn’t mad about the racism—he’s mad that Clyde beat him to the grift. So he jumps into the podcast game himself, adopting a ridiculous haircut and declaring himself a “master-debater.” Classic Cartman.

Meanwhile, over in the adult world, school counselor Mr. Mackey gets laid off because Trump has slashed the Department of Education’s budget. Desperate, he ends up joining ICE. And this is where things get darkly absurd. The orientation video he watches features Kristi Noem saying that shooting her puppy was necessary “because sometimes doing what’s important means doing what’s hard.” That quote is pulled straight from a real-life controversy where Noem admitted to killing her dog for bad behavior—and South Park doesn’t let it go. Throughout the episode, Noem is shown gleefully shooting more puppies, even killing Krypto the Superdog from the new Superman movie. It’s insane, but also a clear metaphor for her perceived cruelty and lack of empathy.

And just when you think it can’t get more surreal, Mackey ends up at a Dora the Explorer concert ICE raid, where Noem yells, “If it’s brown, it goes down!” The racial satire here is blunt and brutal. As the episode escalates, Mackey and Clyde get invited to Mar-a-Lago—portrayed as a trashy parody of Fantasy Island , with Trump as a leisure-suited host and JD Vance as a weird mini sidekick. And yes, Trump’s ego gets mocked, but Vance and Noem take the real heat.

Noem’s portrayal is especially brutal—her face literally melts from Botox and has to be patched up by a beauty squad between raids. It’s cartoonish, sure, but also biting. The message? These people are selling out their humanity for power and attention.

In the end, Mackey delivers the episode’s moral: if you’re doing something you don’t believe in just to “make your nut”—aka make money—you’ll only end up sadder. It’s funny, it’s crude, and it’s painfully on point.

And of course, DHS and right-wing figures tried to clap back online. But South Park ’s response? “Wait, so we ARE relevant? #eatabagofdicks.” You can’t make this stuff up—and that’s exactly why the show still hits hard.
