Southport Flower Show 2025: Fun, Flowers, and Family Adventures

The Southport Flower Show is back, and this year promises to be bigger and more exciting than ever. Running from Thursday, August 14th to Sunday, August 17th at Victoria Park, the UK’s largest independent flower show has been prepared with a packed schedule that will appeal to visitors of all ages. Spectacular show gardens are being finalized, marquees and exhibits are being dressed, and stalls and trade areas are being set up. Every detail has been carefully orchestrated to make sure the event is a true celebration of flowers, creativity, and community.

This year, new attractions have been added to make the show even more family-friendly. A dedicated children’s trail has been created, full of fun and educational activities. Alpacas will be visiting for the first time, giving kids a chance to meet these friendly animals up close. Conservation activities, a scarecrow festival, yoga sessions, a doodle wall, and tennis skills workshops are also included, ensuring there’s something for every child to enjoy. Children under 16 are admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult, which makes the show accessible for families planning a full day out.

Celebrity guests and television personalities will also be featured throughout the four days. Visitors will be able to see children’s TV favourite Justin Fletcher, punk singer Toyah Willcox, and Gladiator star Zack George, also known as Steel. Popular chefs like Rosemary Shrager, Phil Vickery, Cherish Finden, and Bake Off winner Nancy Birtwhistle will appear in the Cookery Theatre, where live cooking demonstrations are scheduled daily. Gardening experts such as David Domoney, Nick Bailey, and Carole Baxter will provide tips and insight in the Garden Theatre, making the show a perfect mix of entertainment and education.

Horticultural highlights remain a central part of the show. Visitors will be treated to spectacular show gardens, a grand floral marquee, floral art displays, and exhibits by amateur growers. The largest amateur grower competition in the UK will be on display, featuring flowers, plants, fruit, vegetables, honey, and preserves across hundreds of classes. Contributions from schools and charities, along with a bees and honey marquee, will showcase community involvement and creativity.

For those who enjoy live entertainment beyond gardening, the show offers plenty. Arena performances include dog display teams, birds of prey, equestrian shows, and continuous music on the Piazza Stage. A wellness area called Enchanted Fields is being set up, where visitors can enjoy yoga, Pilates, meditation, and other relaxation activities. A special “One Night in Old Hollywood” event will also provide cabaret, magic, music, and comedy on Saturday evening.

Tickets are still available, with early bird options for general admission and discounted tickets for local Southport residents. VIP packages, afternoon teas, and ladies’ day tickets are already sold out, but general entry still provides access to a full weekend of color, excitement, and floral beauty. Every year, the dedication of staff, volunteers, and exhibitors is showcased, and this year promises to be a truly memorable experience for everyone attending the Southport Flower Show.

The Southport Flower Show isn’t just about flowers—it’s a vibrant celebration of creativity, family fun, and community spirit that has been enjoyed for over a century.
