Taylor Swift’s Albums Make a Summertime Comeback on the Charts
If you thought Taylor Swift’s chart-topping days were behind her—think again. Despite not having released any new music in recent weeks, several of her past albums have suddenly climbed back onto the charts, especially in the U.K. and the U.S., and fans are eating it up. This kind of chart revival doesn’t just happen by chance—it’s being fueled by a mix of timing, nostalgia, and Swift’s unmatched staying power.
Let’s talk about Folklore first. This indie-leaning, Grammy-winning album, which was a surprise drop back in 2020, has seen a quiet but powerful resurgence on the Billboard charts recently. It’s been boosted by about a 5% increase in overall consumption—streaming and sales combined—which is a pretty solid bump for a five-year-old album. That means it’s moved nearly 14,600 equivalent units in just one week. The track “August” in particular is getting tons of attention right now, probably because of its seasonal vibe. As August hits, fans tend to revisit the song—almost like a tradition—and that’s clearly helping the album climb. Right now, Folklore has risen to No. 6 on the Top Alternative Albums chart, No. 14 on Top Rock & Alternative Albums, and it’s made a decent leap to No. 61 on the Billboard 200.

Meanwhile, over in the U.K., it’s not just Folklore making moves. Three of Swift’s other albums— Reputation , Midnights , and 1989 —have reentered the Official Charts. Midnights and 1989 are back on the Official Albums Streaming chart at No. 92 and No. 99 respectively. But the real standout here is Reputation , which has made it onto four different U.K. charts at once. It’s landed at No. 75 on the main Albums chart and No. 71 on the Streaming list. It’s also popped up on the Albums Sales chart and Physical Albums chart, proving that fans are still buying physical copies years later. Not bad for a project that originally came out in 2017.
Even more impressively, other albums in her catalog—like The Tortured Poets Department , Lover , and yes, Folklore again—are also climbing back up the charts in the U.K. It seems like every time Swifties collectively take a deep breath, they go back and relive different eras of her music.
So while newer artists fight for a spot on the charts, Taylor Swift is once again showing everyone how it’s done—with no promo, no new single, just pure fan-driven love. Honestly, it’s kind of amazing how she continues to be a force, no matter what season we’re in.
