Tom Holland Hints at Bond Rumors While Embracing Acting Breaks
So, there’s been a lot of chatter lately about Tom Holland possibly stepping into the iconic role of James Bond, and while nothing has been confirmed, he hasn’t exactly shut the rumors down either. In a recent interview with celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, Tom responded to the speculation with a bit of a smirk and said, “We’ll keep it to a minimum for now. We’ll get there one day.” That’s classic Hollywood-speak for “I can’t say anything... yet.”
Now, this is all happening as Holland gears up for a major return to the screen with two back-to-back films: Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day . These mark his first feature films since 2022’s Uncharted , so fans are definitely ready to see him back in action. And if the Bond rumors are true, that would mean his schedule is about to get even more packed.

What’s interesting is that Tom has been pretty vocal about the importance of taking breaks from acting. After filming his intense Apple TV+ series The Crowded Room , he actually took nearly a year off. That role really took a toll on him emotionally, and he’s admitted it “broke” him for a while. During his break, he focused on personal projects, including his charity — The Holland Foundation — and even launched a nonalcoholic beer brand called Bero. So while it might have looked like he was off the grid, he was definitely keeping busy in his own way.
In his chat with GQ UK , Tom said he’s learned to set better boundaries in his career, noting that while 2026 will be full-on with movie releases, he’s already planning to take more time off in 2027. He’s not interested in burning out again and seems to have found a rhythm that works for him.
As for Bond? Well, he described it as the "pinnacle" for any young British actor. And let’s be honest — he’s right. Daniel Craig left some big shoes to fill after playing 007 in five films, and with director Denis Villeneuve now confirmed to lead the next chapter — plus a script from Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight — the reboot is shaping up to be a major event. Not to mention Amy Pascal is producing, and she already has a close working relationship with Holland from the Spider-Man films.
For now, though, Tom’s keeping it classy — not denying the rumors but definitely not confirming anything either. Whether he’s our next Bond or not, it’s clear he’s choosing roles and timing carefully, and that’s probably why he keeps winning over fans.
