Tommy Robinson Arrested After London Assault Incident, Released on Bail

So, here’s what’s been making the rounds lately – and it’s pretty serious. Tommy Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon and who’s widely known as one of the UK’s most prominent far-right figures, was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. The arrest happened at Luton Airport on Monday, not long after he flew back to the UK from Portugal.

The whole situation stems from an incident that took place at St Pancras station in London on the evening of July 28. Police were called there around 8:40pm following reports of an assault. When officers arrived, they found a 64-year-old man with serious head injuries who had to be taken to hospital. He stayed there for two days before being discharged.

Now, shortly after that incident, Robinson left the country. First, he flew to Tenerife in the early hours of July 29, and then he made his way to Faro in Portugal. But when he returned to the UK on August 4, British Transport Police were ready. They arrested him as soon as he landed at Luton Airport.

He’s now been released on police bail while investigations continue, and he's due to return for further questioning by September 2.

What’s making this case more intense is a video that’s surfaced online. It shows a man lying motionless on the ground near the northbound Thameslink line at St Pancras. Robinson can be seen in the same area, pacing nearby and at one point claiming he acted in self-defense, saying something like, “He’s come at me, bruv.” However, the video doesn’t actually show how the man ended up on the floor, so it leaves a lot of unanswered questions.

Authorities haven’t officially named Robinson in their statements – which is standard practice unless someone is charged – but it’s been confirmed across multiple sources that he’s the one involved. So far, Robinson hasn’t issued a formal statement about the arrest, though he did respond rather aggressively to a BBC reporter’s request for comment.

He has, however, been active on his social media, posting a few things after the police released their initial statement. But he hasn’t directly addressed what happened or the arrest itself.

Given his controversial reputation and high-profile status, this situation has drawn a lot of attention – not just because of who he is, but also because of the serious nature of the allegations and the fact that there’s visual evidence that raises even more questions. The investigation is still ongoing, and until formal charges are brought, the full picture remains unclear.
