Tour Championship Round 2: Fleetwood and Henley Share Lead in Atlanta
Hey everyone, here’s the latest from the 2025 Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. After a weather-altered Friday, Round 2 saw some thrilling golf action, with both Tommy Fleetwood and Russell Henley now sharing the lead at 13-under par.
The day started early, with tee times moved up by three hours because of forecasts for thunderstorms later in the afternoon. That change didn’t seem to faze the top players, as Fleetwood and Henley both put in stellar performances. Fleetwood, who is still chasing his first PGA Tour victory, delivered an impressive 63, making eight birdies. The only hiccup came on the 16th hole, where he fell short from a fairway bunker, but otherwise, his round was nearly flawless. Henley kept the momentum going as well, making birdies on the last two holes to post a 66, tying him with Fleetwood at the top of the leaderboard.
Cameron Young also made headlines with a dazzling back-nine performance. After starting the round strong, Young birdied three consecutive holes on Nos. 11, 12, and 13, moving up to 11-under par, just two strokes behind the leaders. Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre and Patrick Cantlay weren’t far behind either, both sitting at 10-under after consistent play.

Meanwhile, defending FedExCup champion Scottie Scheffler had a tougher day. Despite starting two shots behind Henley, Scheffler’s 69 included three bogeys, leaving him five strokes back at 8-under. Shane Lowry provided one of the standout moments of the day with a 97-foot birdie putt on the back nine, the longest in FedExCup playoff history. That incredible shot helped him card a 63 and move into a tie for seventh at 7-under, alongside Rory McIlroy, who played a bogey-free 67.
Other notable performances included Keegan Bradley and Harry Hall, both of whom had strong rounds at 5-under for the day, keeping them in striking distance in the top ten. The competition is heating up as all 30 players continue to navigate the challenging East Lake course.
Looking ahead, the Tour Championship will continue through Sunday, with players competing in four rounds total. With Fleetwood and Henley sharing the lead and a host of contenders like Young, Scheffler, and Lowry in striking range, the weekend promises high drama.
