Blaze in Three Fathom Harbour Contained After Spreading to Multiple Buildings
It was quite a scene in Three Fathom Harbour earlier this week when a fire that started small ended up threatening several buildings and nearby woods. Around midday, firefighters were called to reports of a shed on fire. By the time the first crews from Chezzetcook arrived, the flames had already spread beyond that shed, taking hold of a nearby home, a garage, and another shed. The fire was even creeping toward the trees, putting yet another structure at risk.
This was not a simple incident. According to Halifax Professional Fire Fighters, each building posed its own challenges, and the close proximity of the structures meant that the flames moved quickly. Additional crews from Cole Harbour and Musquodoboit Harbour rushed in to provide backup. Working together, firefighters immediately focused on protecting the home and stopping the fire’s advance into the woods. Fortunately, no reports of injuries have been released, which is significant given how many buildings were affected.
