Burger King Unveils Its Most Luxurious Burger Yet

Have you heard the news? Burger King has just shaken up the fast food scene in the UK by launching what they’re calling their poshest burger ever—a Wagyu beef creation that’s being hailed as a first for the industry. This isn’t just any burger; it’s part of their new “Gourmet Kings” range, designed to bring high-end ingredients into the fast food world, making Wagyu beef accessible to everyone. And yes, the whole campaign has celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay front and center, giving it that extra dash of culinary credibility.

The Wagyu burger is made from 100% British Wagyu beef, which has been specially bred by crossing Wagyu cattle with grass-fed British dairy cows across 700 farms. This results in a patty that is tender, buttery, and beautifully marbled—a texture and flavor that are normally reserved for high-end restaurants. But Burger King has aimed to bring that experience to the fast-food counter. The burger is served on a seeded brioche bun and stacked with caramelized onion mayonnaise, pink pickled onions, crispy onions, caramelized onions, and fresh rocket leaves. Clearly, no expense was spared when it comes to flavor layering.

This premium burger isn’t just about ingredients; the presentation has been carefully considered too. It’s delivered in a sleek black cardboard box, designed specifically for this burger, with half of the burger wrapped in parchment paper to make it look as appealing as possible and prevent it from falling apart when you bite into it. Prices start at £11 for the burger alone or £13.50 for a full meal, which is positioned as surprisingly reasonable considering the gourmet ingredients.

Gordon Ramsay, who is appearing in a new series of Burger King ads, has given the burger his enthusiastic seal of approval, describing it as “f***ing delicious” and admitting he wished he had created it himself. He highlighted that what makes this burger exciting is the price point, noting that premium flavors are being brought to a wider audience without forcing diners to splurge at an expensive burger joint.

Interestingly, the burger’s patty is cooked on Burger King’s signature flame grill for just over three minutes, then rested briefly to ensure the fat is rendered and the texture is tender. While tasting it, some food critics noted that while the Wagyu patty is richer and more buttery than a standard Whopper, the difference is subtle—yet the combination with three types of onions and the posh accompaniments truly elevates the experience.

This launch follows Burger King’s biggest menu shake-up in years and signals a shift toward more gourmet offerings, showing that fast food doesn’t always have to compromise on quality. With the Wagyu burger now available in stores and on Deliveroo nationwide, it’s clear that Burger King is betting on blending indulgence with accessibility, and with Gordon Ramsay’s endorsement, it’s hard not to be intrigued enough to give it a try.
