The buzz around the Montreal Canadiens’ training camp is picking up, and fans in Brossard got a real treat when the players hit the ice on September 19. The CN Sports Complex was alive with energy, with people eager to get their first real glimpse of how this year’s squad is shaping up. Training camp always carries that mix of optimism and curiosity—who will step up, how the lines will click, and which players might surprise everyone.
The morning session featured Team B, with Owen Beck, Josh Anderson, Brendan Gallagher, Alex Newhook, and others skating hard. Goaltenders Jakub Dobes, Kaapo Kähkönen, and Kevin Mandolese shared the crease while defense pairings rotated frequently. For fans, it was less about the results and more about watching the flow, chemistry, and little flashes of skill that can hint at bigger roles later in the season. Beck in particular drew attention, skating with pace and showing that two-way awareness he’s been known for since his junior days.
