Dancing with the Stars Season 34 Brings 20th Anniversary Excitement
The ballroom is about to light up once again, because season 34 of Dancing with the Stars is almost here. Fans have been buzzing ever since a clip of co-hosts Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro dancing to the classic “Pump Up the Jam” hit the internet back in August. That short video gave everyone a taste of the energy this season will bring, and it’s safe to say anticipation is at an all-time high. What makes this year even more special is that the show will be celebrating its 20th anniversary—a huge milestone for one of TV’s most beloved reality competitions.
The official premiere is locked in for Tuesday, September 16, airing at 8 p.m. ET and PT on both ABC and Disney+. For those who prefer streaming, the episodes will also be available the following day on Disney+ and Hulu. As always, Tuesday nights are about to become appointment television for dance fans across the country.

Now, when it comes to the cast, the big reveal is being saved for Good Morning America on September 3, so viewers will want to tune in bright and early to catch the full lineup. But in true DWTS fashion, a few names have already been announced. Robert Irwin, the wildlife conservationist and photographer—and yes, the son of the late Steve Irwin—was the very first celebrity competitor confirmed earlier this year. He called it both an “honor” and a “privilege” to be part of the show, and he’ll certainly be one to watch. Influencer and podcast host Alix Earle is also stepping into the ballroom this season, along with Whitney Leavitt and Jen Affleck from Secret Lives of Mormon Wives .
It’s not just the celebrities getting attention. On the professional side, a fresh face is joining the pro dancer lineup—Jan Ravnik. Fans may recognize him from Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, where he performed as a backup dancer around the world. He shared that he’s now ready to bring that same energy to the ballroom, saying that “the Mirrorball never goes out of style.” That kind of confidence makes him an exciting addition to the competition.
As for the judging panel, there won’t be any surprises. Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli will all be returning to their seats, bringing their signature blend of critiques, encouragement, and fiery commentary. They’ll have big shoes to fill after last season, which ended with Bachelor star Joey Graziadei and his pro partner Jenna Johnson taking home the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy. Ilona Maher and Chandler Kinney rounded out the top three, proving the competition is always fierce.
With milestone celebrations, fresh talent, and a stage set for unforgettable performances, season 34 of Dancing with the Stars is shaping up to be one of the biggest yet. Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to the show, this fall’s ballroom battles are not to be missed.
