Denise Richards Brings RHOBH Footage to Court Battle With Ex Aaron Phypers
Denise Richards’ divorce from Aaron Phypers has taken a dramatic turn, and the courtroom is about to see some very familiar footage. The actress, who’s now 54, is preparing to use clips from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills as evidence in her request for a permanent restraining order against her estranged husband.

According to court filings, Richards has compiled a list of materials she intends to present at the upcoming hearing, including videotapes, transcripts, photos, and text messages. Among the most striking pieces of evidence is a scene from season 10 of RHOBH , aired back in 2020. In the clip, Phypers can be heard telling Richards, “Don’t tell me what to say, or I’m going to crush your f***ing hand.” The tense moment unfolded after Richards urged him not to speak on camera. When the reunion aired later, Richards admitted she had been rattled by the incident, and even her castmates Garcelle Beauvais and Sutton Stracke expressed shock after rewatching it.
Richards is also expected to present photos she claims show injuries caused by Phypers. One picture, dated March 26, 2020, reportedly shows a bruise she says happened when he pulled her off a chair by her legs. Another photo from June 2023, taken at a red-carpet event, allegedly captures bruises on her arm. She also submitted a series of text messages, including one to Phypers’ mother describing alleged abuse, and another message claiming he had threatened to drive off a cliff. In addition, she pointed to texts about firearms in the home and an alleged incident where she said he damaged one of her implants.
Phypers, 52, has strongly denied all accusations. He has publicly stated that he never physically or emotionally abused Richards, calling her claims false and harmful. In his response, he suggested that Richards is attempting to humiliate him, much like she allegedly did with her previous ex-husband, Charlie Sheen. Phypers insists that he will be vindicated once the truth comes out.
This legal battle comes shortly after Phypers filed for divorce in July, citing irreconcilable differences. He requested spousal support, claiming he has no income, while Richards countered by asking the court not to award him financial support but instead to order him to pay her. She also noted in her filing that her date of separation from him was still “to be determined,” while he listed July 4.
No children are involved in their split, which eliminates custody issues, but spousal support and the restraining order remain central points of contention. The situation has been further complicated by allegations that Phypers leaked private photos from Richards’ laptop, which she has asked the court to retrieve.
As the hearing approaches, this case is shaping up to be one of Hollywood’s more explosive divorce battles. With reality TV footage, alleged threats, and conflicting claims of abuse, both Richards and Phypers appear determined to fight for their version of the truth—leaving the court to decide what really happened behind closed doors.
