Deportation Ruling Sparks Fight Over Mahmoud Khalil Case

According to court documents, he allegedly failed to disclose connections to groups and activities tied to his activism, including an internship with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency and his involvement with Columbia University’s anti-Israel coalition.
The judge in Louisiana, Jamee Comans, concluded earlier this month that those omissions were not accidental. Instead, she considered them deliberate and serious enough to justify removing Khalil from the United States. Federal authorities argued that his lack of disclosure raised both security and foreign policy concerns, while Khalil and his attorneys called the ruling unjust and politically motivated.
