Explosive Prelims Set the Stage at Noche UFC: Lopes vs Silva

Hey fight fans! Last night, Noche UFC: Lopes vs Silva lit up the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas, and the preliminary card was nothing short of electric. The third annual Noche UFC event kicked off with a flurry of action that showcased everything fans love about the sport—gritty submissions, precise striking, and some unexpected twists along the way.

The night started with Daniil Donchenko making a statement in the welterweight division. He stormed through Rodrigo Sezinando in the first round, clinching the Ultimate Fighter Season 33 welterweight tournament. From the opening bell, Donchenko dominated, landing elbows and heavy punches that left Sezinando struggling. After a brief pause for an accidental low blow, Donchenko came back firing and forced a TKO at 4:27 of the first round. With this win, Donchenko now rides a five-fight streak and has firmly marked himself as an exciting prospect in the 170-pound class.

The prelims continued with Montse Rendon facing off against 19-year-old newcomer Alice Pereira. Rendon pressed the action throughout, consistently working to control Pereira along the fence and even threatening with a choke in the second round. Despite Pereira’s youthful energy, the judges ultimately awarded Rendon the split decision victory, giving her a solid 2-1 UFC record.

In the flyweight division, Dana White’s Contender Series alumni Jesus Aguilar and Luis Gurule battled in a fast-paced three-round affair. Aguilar came out aggressive, throwing heavy strikes from the start and keeping Gurule on his back foot. The bout remained competitive, but Aguilar edged out the win on the scorecards, recording his fourth UFC victory in six appearances. Alden Coria also made a big splash in his UFC debut, finishing Alessandro Costa with strikes in the third round after a dominant showing over the first two rounds. His unbeaten streak is now extended to five, and “Cobra” looks poised for future contention in the 125-pound ranks.

Not all prelims went as smoothly, however. The middleweight clash between Zachary Reese and Sedriques Dumas ended in a no contest just 51 seconds in after an accidental low blow rendered Dumas unable to continue. While disappointing, it was a reminder of how unpredictable MMA can be.

Other highlights included Tatiana Suarez battling former title challenger Amanda Lemos. Suarez controlled the pace with grappling dominance and fence work, ultimately earning a unanimous decision victory. Joaquim Silva also turned in a gutsy performance, rallying late to secure a split decision over Claudio Puelles. And finally, Duško Todorović wrapped up the prelims with a first-round rear-naked choke submission of Jose Daniel Medina, marking his first win in four fights and proving he can still make waves in the middleweight division.

All in all, the prelims at Noche UFC delivered high drama, technical mastery, and plenty of fight-night excitement. These results have set the stage perfectly for the main card tonight, where fans can expect even more unforgettable moments inside the Octagon.
