Jaden Smith Named Christian Louboutin’s First Men’s Creative Director
Big news has just shaken the fashion world—Jaden Smith has officially been appointed as the very first men’s creative director at Christian Louboutin. That’s right, the American actor, rapper, and style icon is stepping into a historic role at the French luxury house, one that is set to redefine its men’s division. He’ll be moving to Paris to begin this new chapter, with his debut collection scheduled to be unveiled in January during men’s fashion week.
This appointment didn’t just come out of nowhere. Christian Louboutin himself spoke about how Smith caught his attention years ago. He described him as kind, humble, curious, and above all, fascinating—not only in the way he dresses but also in the way he thinks. Their connection started back in 2019, and over time, Louboutin realized how much Smith reminded him of his own younger self, especially with their shared love of color, fun, and expressive style. According to Louboutin, the decision wasn’t made because he felt pressured to find a creative director. Instead, it was because Smith naturally fit into that vision.

For Jaden Smith, this is one of the biggest honors of his life. He admitted that he feels a sense of pressure to live up to everything Louboutin has built, but he’s also excited about the potential he sees in the men’s universe of the brand. He’ll be overseeing four collections a year across shoes, leather goods, and accessories, while also shaping campaigns, events, and immersive brand experiences. Smith expressed how eager he is to show the world what’s coming, describing this opportunity as both humbling and energizing.
Interestingly, Smith’s connection to Louboutin goes back to his childhood. He recalled spending time in his mom Jada Pinkett Smith’s closet and noticing her row of red-bottom heels. Later, his father Will Smith also had pairs, his sister Willow wore them, and even his first girlfriend asked for them. So, the red soles were part of his world from an early age. His passion for shoes grew into something deeper—he even collects footwear not to wear but to study their design, materials, and craftsmanship.
Christian Louboutin, now 62, said Smith’s arrival gives him the freedom to focus more on women’s footwear, which is the fastest-growing part of the business, while Smith brings fresh energy to the men’s side. The men’s division currently makes up about a quarter of Louboutin’s sales but has recently seen slower growth. With Smith’s creativity, influence, and more than 19 million Instagram followers, Louboutin’s team believes this move could double the men’s business in just a few years.
Smith’s first “avant-premiere” capsule will drop in January in select boutiques and online, with his full fall 2026 collection arriving next May. For both Smith and Louboutin, this partnership feels less like a calculated business decision and more like the meeting of two creative minds who share a passion for fashion, art, and joyful self-expression. It’s a bold new step for Louboutin—and a dream role for Jaden Smith.
