Kojima Reveals Cast and Concept Art for Physint
During Kojima Productions’ 10th anniversary livestream, fans finally got a closer look at Hideo Kojima’s long-rumored project, Physint . The game, described as a “stealth action” title in the spirit of Metal Gear Solid , had been surrounded by mystery since its initial announcement in early 2024. Now, a clearer picture has begun to emerge, with the reveal of both cast members and early concept art.
The livestream, titled Beyond the Strand , featured Kojima himself along with a few notable guests. Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Herman Hulst appeared briefly, reaffirming that Sony is working closely with Kojima Productions on this ambitious project. What makes Physint stand out is not just its genre, but also the vision Kojima has attached to it. He has repeatedly described it as a “culmination” of his career, something that aims to blur the line between cinema and gaming. According to him, this will be the project that transcends traditional categories—designed to feel like both a game and a movie simultaneously.

As for the cast, three major names were confirmed. Don Lee, known internationally for Train to Busan and Marvel’s Eternals , will star alongside Charlee Fraser from Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga . Japanese actress Minami Hamabe, who featured in Godzilla Minus One , was also revealed, with an in-engine demonstration highlighting her character model. Kojima himself commented on the realism of the rendering, pointing out the level of detail, particularly in the portrayal of skin.
It was also revealed that the casting process had been delayed due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes, but progress is now underway. A poster was shown during the event, deliberately keeping the protagonist shrouded in mystery, hinting at Kojima’s trademark love for suspense. The game will run on an advanced version of Guerrilla Games’ Decima Engine—the same technology behind Death Stranding and Horizon Zero Dawn .
Despite the excitement, fans should temper their expectations about when they’ll get to play it. Kojima has openly stated that full production only began after Death Stranding 2 entered its final stages. He has estimated it could take another five or six years before Physint
Interestingly, Kojima has explained that the project was born out of a deeply personal moment in his life. Following a period of illness and surgery, he was forced to confront his own mortality. That experience pushed him to shift his priorities, finally giving fans what they had been asking him to do for years—return to the tactical espionage roots that defined his earlier work.
So while Physint remains far from release, the recent reveal gave fans reassurance that the project is alive, steadily evolving, and filled with Kojima’s signature ambition. It’s not just another stealth action game—it’s being positioned as his ultimate statement, the work he wants to be remembered for.
