Remembering Zuza Beine, A Brave Young Influencer Gone Too Soon

Zuza Beine’s story is one that has touched millions of people across the world. At just 14 years old, Zuza had already lived a life defined not only by the relentless battle with cancer but also by her remarkable openness and bravery in sharing that journey with others. Her passing, announced on September 23, 2025, left her community of 1.8 million Instagram followers heartbroken, as well as countless others who had come to know her through her videos and posts.

Zuza was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia when she was only three years old. For eleven of her fourteen years, she lived with the disease. Instead of retreating into silence, she chose to bring people into her world. Through her Instagram account, “zuzas_way_to_healing,” she posted regular updates about her treatments, her struggles, and even her everyday routines. Many of her most beloved videos were her “Get Ready With Me” clips, where she shared makeup or simple daily rituals while talking openly about her health. Viewers admired her honesty, her humor, and her ability to find gratitude in even the hardest circumstances.

In the days leading up to her death, Zuza continued to speak candidly about the pain she was experiencing. In one video, she admitted she was relying on constant medication just to manage how much her body hurt. The very next day, she shared that she could barely walk because of the intensity of the pain. And yet, just one day before her passing, she left her followers with a final message of gratitude, highlighting “the tiny things” that still brought her joy. Her family later reflected that it was no coincidence her last video centered on thankfulness—because that was who she was at her core, someone who lived fully even in the face of suffering.

Zuza’s death came as an especially heavy blow to her family, who had already been reeling from another tragedy. Only days before, Zuza’s mother, Dagmara Beine, lost her younger brother unexpectedly. He left behind a wife and two young children, and the family has been surrounded by shock and grief from back-to-back losses. In their announcement of Zuza’s passing, her parents included a request that donations be made to support her late uncle’s family instead of sending flowers.

Her parents wrote movingly that Zuza “lived more fully and gratefully than most” and that both her life and her death had permanently changed those who loved her. She wanted nothing more than to be a normal, healthy kid, but what made her remarkable was the way she faced extraordinary hardship with strength and vulnerability.

Zuza was also part of Glow House, a group of young content creators working to empower other youth online. She had survived cancer multiple times, even enduring three bone marrow transplants. Despite those battles, she continued to shine a light for others who might be struggling.

Her story is now a legacy of courage, resilience, and authenticity. For those who followed her journey, Zuza will always be remembered not just as a young influencer but as a symbol of living fully, even in the midst of unimaginable challenges.
