Riot Games Reveals Groups and Schedule for LGC Rising
Riot Games has finally lifted the curtain on the very first League of Legends Game Changers Rising, and the excitement could not be higher. After months of anticipation, the tournament is set to kick off this Saturday, September 13, with eight teams locked in and ready to compete on one of the biggest stages dedicated to the female League of Legends scene.
The announcement came just a few days before the opening matches, and fans had been waiting eagerly for details. Now the groups are confirmed. Group A will feature G2 Hel, Nexus Reapers, Galions Pearl, and Zerance Bloom. Over in Group B, we’ll see Solary Académie, Vitality Rising Bees, SK Gaming Avarosa, and Eterna. Each of these teams followed different paths to reach this point, which makes the group stage all the more compelling.
Also Read:Some of the teams, like Solary Académie, Nexus Reapers, and Galions Pearl, earned their place through the Equal Esports Cup, one of the scene’s key competitions before the introduction of LGC Rising. G2 Hel, who won that tournament and arrive as clear favorites, were directly invited alongside Vitality Rising Bees and SK Avarosa, since all three represent major organizations already competing in the LEC. The final two spots went to Zerance Bloom and Eterna, who battled their way through the Open Qualifiers to earn a ticket to this brand-new stage.
The schedule has also been laid out. The group stage will run from September 13 through September 28, with matches played in three two-day blocks. Each game in this stage will be a best-of-one, single round-robin format. It all starts this Saturday at 1 p.m. CEST, with a headline clash between G2 Hel and Zerance Bloom. From there, every match will matter, as the top three teams in each group will advance to the playoffs.
Once playoffs begin on October 13, the intensity will rise dramatically. Group winners will advance directly to the upper bracket final, while the second- and third-place teams from each group will be forced to fight their way through elimination matches in the lower bracket. Those playoff battles will be played as best-of-five series, ensuring endurance, strategy, and consistency will be tested to the limit.
The grand final is already circled on the calendar: October 30, live at Paris Games Week. This stage has become a symbolic venue, having hosted the Coupe des Étoiles finals in previous years, and it will now witness the crowning of the first-ever LGC Rising champion. Interestingly, that final will take place just hours after the League of Legends World Championship quarterfinals wrap up — creating a weekend of nonstop competition for fans around the globe.
So the stage is set. Eight teams, one historic competition, and a chance to shape the future of women’s League of Legends esports. All eyes will be on Paris as the first chapter of LGC Rising is written.
