Road Rage Chaos Erupts on M25 as Motorist Dragged by Hair
It was one of those moments you don’t expect to see on a motorway, let alone one as busy as the M25. Drivers on Sunday evening were left shocked when a dramatic road rage brawl broke out in the middle of the southbound lanes near the Thorpe interchange with the M3 in Surrey. The chaos stopped traffic as stunned motorists watched six people clash violently right there on the tarmac.
According to witnesses, the fight involved the occupants of two vehicles — a white Audi A3 and a larger black car. What began as an argument quickly turned into a full-on scuffle. Passersby described how punches were thrown and tempers spiraled out of control. The most shocking moment came when one woman was seen dragging another motorist out of their car by the hair, right in the middle of the lane. That sight has since circulated widely, making headlines and sparking debate about just how dangerous road rage can become.

Two men were also seen grappling and swinging punches at each other while other members of the group shouted and pushed. One witness, who was driving past at the time, explained how surreal the scene felt. In their words, “It looked like a road rage brawl. They pulled a girl out of the car and we had no idea what it was about. It was mad, it was insane — right in the middle of the lane. The whole motorway was blocked.” For drivers trying to get home that evening, it was both frightening and frustrating, as lanes were obstructed until the fight broke up.
Police were called to the scene at around 7:15pm, and Surrey Police later confirmed that four people were arrested on suspicion of affray and assault. Out of those arrested, three were released under investigation, and one was released with no further action. Officers are now appealing for more information, particularly dashcam footage from anyone who may have passed by the incident.
Authorities have described the confrontation as extremely dangerous, not just for those directly involved but also for everyone traveling on that stretch of road at the time. A motorway like the M25 is not only one of the busiest in the country, but also a place where sudden stops or unexpected blockages can quickly turn into much more serious accidents.
