WrestleMania Heads to Saudi Arabia for the First Time in 2027
For the first time in WWE history, WrestleMania will be staged outside of North America. The announcement was made in Las Vegas by WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque, standing alongside Saudi Arabian adviser Turki Alalshikh. It was confirmed that WrestleMania 43 will be hosted in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 2027. This marks a massive milestone, not only for WWE but also for global sports entertainment, as its biggest spectacle is being taken overseas for the very first time.
Levesque described the move as an opportunity to highlight WWE’s true reach as a global brand, one that already excites millions of fans around the world. He expressed that this is more than just an event—it is a moment to showcase how wrestling transcends borders and cultures. The announcement was made in grand fashion, with legends like Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker present, alongside current stars including Charlotte Flair, Seth Rollins, Bianca Belair, and Logan Paul.

Belair, who has been part of WWE’s evolving journey in Saudi Arabia, spoke about how meaningful this moment feels, especially for women in wrestling. She noted that the partnership has transformed from its early days into something that now consistently highlights female performers on Saudi soil. The first women’s match there took place back in 2019, when Natalya faced Lacey Evans, and since then, women have been regularly featured at every major event in the region. Belair emphasized how powerful it is that WrestleMania itself is now being added to that legacy.
Turki Alalshikh also issued a statement, promising that Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh Season in 2027 will deliver a WrestleMania like the world has never seen before. He called WrestleMania the crown jewel of wrestling and pledged that it will be elevated to unprecedented heights when brought to the Kingdom.
Of course, this partnership also comes with major financial weight. Reports suggest that Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority was willing to commit a sum that could exceed $100 million just to secure the event. To put that into perspective, that’s nearly a quarter of what WWE has earned in ticket sales from every other WrestleMania combined. Negotiations are reportedly ongoing with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and if finalized, his involvement could become the biggest payday for any professional wrestler in history.
Possible matchups are already being speculated on, with names like Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns mentioned as potential opponents for The Rock. If it happens, it would be a fitting centerpiece for an event already shaping up to be historic.
This move cements the growing relationship between WWE and Saudi Arabia, which began with the Greatest Royal Rumble in 2018 and has since expanded to multiple premium live events. With Royal Rumble also heading to Riyadh in January, the road to WrestleMania 43 is already being paved. By 2027, fans worldwide will witness history as WWE’s most iconic show finally takes the global stage in Saudi Arabia.
